Tuesday August 10th, 2010 - Duntroon Highlands Golf Club

Owned and operated by the Sampson Family, Duntroon Highlands Golf Club lies on land that was once part of the old Sampson farm. The course occupies an excellent vantage point atop the southwest end of Blue Mountain, and affords wonderful views of the Central Ontario landscape and beautiful Georgian Bay. Since it first opened in 1986, the course has drawn an increasing number of golfers each year to become one of the most popular golf courses in the Georgian Bay area.
The course was built on property which had previously been farmed. With the help of a friend who had owned his own golf course, Dalton Sampson, the proprietor, designed the course, trying to leave the mature trees and put ponds in the most natural and justifiable locations.
The fairways on the course cover the full gamut of playing conditions and play ranges from level to hilly and open to tight. Water affects play on 12 holes, and magnificent maple trees line many fairways. Duntroon's greens are average in size, always kept in excellent condition and a challenge to putt.

Eighteen holes of classic golf course architecture allows for an enjoyable challenge for both the casual and advanced golfers. The terrain is quite hilly with some elevation changes, but the course is still walk-able. The bent grass greens are immaculate and expansive; some are two-tiered while other undulations and slopes that make for some interesting pin placements. Over 70 bunkers dot the course with the majority of them protecting the greens. Number 12 has the only distinct water hazard, but carries over Willow Creek are required on four holes.
Tuesday September 21st, 2010 - Batteaux Creek Golf Club

This Stephen Young designed course is built with all golfers in mind, with the risk/reward concept of golf applicable to the entire course. With over 50 acres of Bent Grass fairways, the membership loves the challenge of planning their shots for the best approach to the green. In some cases, with wide landing areas, the middle is not always the best shot. The oversized greens allow for numerous choices of ball placement.
An inviting board & batten clubhouse is situated at the end of the lane overlooking one of the three main ponds on the golf course. The Clubhouse features a warm, inviting, country atmosphere, with a private members' lounge and a public lounge. Day lockers and showers are included in the clubhouse.
