Friday Funny 58

Friday, January 29, 2010

I'm hungry this morning, so I'm starting with something foody.  From The Daily Beast, a list of that they think will be the 10 biggest food trends this year, and I like almost all of them!  Props to the Bacon-Chcocolate Chip Pancakes: http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2010-01-21/10-food-trends-for-2010/?cid=topic:mainpromo1#gallery=1240;page=5.

I found this online this week - an accidental type-o that made me giggle . . . You too?

I had no idea that Ikea could become any more awesome - to me, anyway.  Thanks and mad props to the guy who created this online saga, Ikea Heights:

I was on the Newsweek website this morning and discovered a photo gallery full of examples of magazines that claim to airbrush us for the "greater good".  The next time you see a photo of a celebrity without celulite, call bull-pucky on them and know that Photoshop is their biggest tool to suckering us in at the newsstand: http://www.newsweek.com/id/231629.

Chances are you work with men . . . The likelihoood is that even if a guy is a CEO, he's a 10 year old at heart.  Watch this and tell me it's not even a little bit familiar . . .

"Cougar" is a word that has many meanings, but the most culturally significant is the one that refers to May-December romances where the women are the older of the two.  Cute and cheeky, Time did a photo essay about the history of the cougar, tracing her as far as the Bible: http://www.time.com/time/photogallery/0,29307,1955844,00.html.

Here's an encore of the video I posted on Monday, and I dedicate it to Shawn and Dave because they both HATE spiders.  After seeing this, so do I.

Are you still wondering what happened to Tiger Woods on the night he and his wife Elin were caught up in the mother of all scandals?  This article may provide you with some insight: http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2010-01-24/tigers-thanksgiving-mystery----solved/?cid=hp:mainpromo6.

Even if you didn't grow up with Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, you know who they are and have seen their privileged upbringing.  With all of the time the twins have spent in the tabloids, I think you'll like this sendup . . . I give you Very Mary-Kate:

Very Mary-Kate, Episode 1 from Mary-Kate Olsen on Vimeo.

This is a GREAT way to announce an engagement, invite people to your wedding or in this case, save the date:

Could you live a paperless life?  From books to bills, one reporter did and says it was both great - and not so great: http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2010-01-25/my-paperless-life/?cid=hp:mainpromo8.

I'm all for body art and piercing, but can you take either one too far?  That may be a matter of taste and this video may decide it for you.  I warn you that there's a wee bit of blood so if you're sqeamish, you may want to pass . . .

Have a great weekend and I'll talk to you Monday!
